Braemar is a close-knit, caring, student-centered
school where students receive unmatched attention
and support. Better put, we are a family.
This
is not just talk; it’s a defining
characteristic of our school.
And it shows. We greet students when they arrive
at the airport and take them to their homestay.
A welcome-pack includes a phone card so they
can call their family that same day. All new
students are invited to a Welcome to Canada dinner,
in which they celebrate as our guest with teachers
and other students.
We
accompany students to help open bank accounts.
We ensure—along with homestay families—that
students know how to find their way around on
public transportation.
We
draw up a detailed study-plan to make sure
all our students have what they need to achieve
their goals. Follow-up guidance meetings ensure
students remain on-target. Parents are kept informed
of their child’s attendance and progress.
Our
students enjoy special events—the
famous Ice Cream Days. Birthday parties are celebrated.
Halloween is a tradition, as is our annual Christmas
Party.
Our
graduation ceremony is lavish—with
music, drama, dancing, and lots of food.
We facilitate applications to colleges and universities,
as well as all scholarship applications. We assist
with visa extensions. We help students returning
to their home countries to have their transcript
notarized at their consulate.
The
list goes on. But this is simply part of being
a family. And, of course, all this—all
of it--is at no extra cost.
Being
part of a family is very nice—but what
practical advantages does Braemar offer?
Here is a comparison of Braemar with a regular
public school. Incidentally, the annual tuition
of an average public school is approximately
$3,000 CAD more.
