What are the advantages of the ‘Fast Track Semester System?

• The Fast Track Semester System (FTSS) divides the academic year into four semesters, allowing students to focus on only two courses at a time.  This increased focus results in benefits such as:

• Reducing time spent administering courses by at least half
• Increasing daily exposure to course subject-matter by 100%
• This increased focus boosts retention rates of course material

• Under the FTSS students can advance up to four levels in a given subject in one academic year. (See diagram). Related educational benefits include:

  Increasing English proficiency at twice the pace possible at other school
• Enabling students to gain university entrance at the earliest possible date
• Providing great flexibility: starting dates in November & April are options in addition to September, February and July;

• Each student has unique academic objectives: thus we provide each with a customized Program of Study.  Our FTSS does more than save students time. It also saves parents a good deal of money.  Here are some examples of how students/parents benefit from the FTSS:

• Students requiring only 6 credits can complete their Program of Study in April (not June) if they begin in September; or graduate in June if they begin in November—this saves the time and cost of attending Summer School
• Students requiring more than 8 credits in one academic year may take 3 credits per semester if appropriate. Thus our FTSS permits us to offer our Express Program—yet another unique feature only offered by Braemar
• Our FTSS also highlights an overarching aspect of our college: it is designed to benefit students, not the administrators who run the college. We don’t just claim—we do—put our students first!
